I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
