It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was out her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she later admitted those injuries have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
